In Arizona it is illegal to leave your pet in a hot car: ARS 13-2910 makes it a criminal offense for anyone who "intentionally, knowingly or recklessly leaves an animal unattended and confined in a motor vehicle and physical injury to or death of the animal is likely to result."

Sadly, as the summer of 2014 has just barely begun, there have already been pets left in cars & died as a result. ...

Black Dog Syndrome: Myth or Real?

Posted on June 13, 2014 at 3:25 PM Comments comments (0)

As it is Friday the 13th AND a Full Moon, stereotypes and superstitions abound!

One such stereotype is that black dogs (and cats) are not as "good" as other colored pets.  This is known as Black Dog Syndrome.

"Have you ever heard about the term “Black Dog Syndrome”? Although it might sound like a mythical disease, it is not, neither is it contagious. It is a phenomenon in the shelter ...

BSL, or Breed Selective Legislation has been inacted in hundreds of US cities & States. Due to ignorance and fear based knee jerk reactions to a perceived threat from a specific breed (the fear usually has been manifested by specific negative actions of a specific dog of a certain breed), these bans have cost THOUSANDS of perfectly wonderful pets to lose their homes, their families and sadly, their LIVES.

Pet Insurance - What you need to know

Did you know that every 2 seconds* (2 SECONDS!!) a pet goes missing in the US?   *

What price would you pay to know exactly where your pet is if he/she got lost?

Your pet has a Micorchip? That is very good if they are found by someone who wil take them to a vet or county shelter to be scanned. And only good if the information on the chip is up to date. So a microchip is good, but not good enough. Check out TAGG the Pet Track...

As people are becoming more conscience about what they feed to their pets, food recalls can be a big deal. Did you know that the FDA acutally regulates to a degree what can be in pet food?

From the website:

"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates that can of cat food, bag of dog food, or box of dog treats or snacks in your p...

First I must disclose that I am NOT a Blogger. However, occasionally I come across a tid bit of news or find an article that I feel is worth sharing with the world, or a select few 2-legged friends.

This is an article I love to share with people who are looking for a dog as a pet. Not specifically for the seasoned pet owner, but more for t...
